I'm a South Louisiana girl, a wife, and a mom of two human boys and two feline girls. The cats totally bring some much-needed sass to balance out the boy chaos in my world!
I have been an elementary educator for 19 years and counting. I spent the majority of my career teaching 3rd and 4th graders. Currently, I am in my 6th year as our school's STEM teacher, and what an exciting adventure it has been. There were certainly some learning curves (ahem ... kindergarten and 1st grade), but there's never a dull moment.
In my position as the school STEM teacher, I am responsible for creating two to three-week units for each grade level from K-5. I work with students in rotating sessions alongside our three PE teachers and one art teacher. Our class sizes range from 28 to 35 students. As you can see, we have a very large primary school, around 850 students, and I get to teach ALL of them!
This brings me to my purpose of STEM from the Heart. I am passionate about creating teaching & learning materials and sharing them with other educators. STEM excites me and I hope to get you excited too!
